Milan, February 9, 2011 The Energy Authority, at the conclusion of proceedings including hearings, imposed penalties totaling more than 2.3 million € to Acea Distribuzione, A2A Electrical Networks, Enel Distribuzione and Terna Networks Gelsi for violation of laws protecting the proper management and remuneration of transmission services, measurement, and dispatching two other companies, market and Flyenergia Iren, have been penalized in terms of lack of transparency of bills. The penalties amounted to 571 thousand euro for Acea Distribuzione, 302 000 € for A2A Electrical Networks, 92 0 thousand euro for Enel Distribuzione, 75 000 to € 420 000 € Gelsi Networks and the operator of the national transmission grid Terna, were imposed at the end of formal proceedings relating to offenses committed in the period 2005-2007. Failure to comply with the regulation of the companies involved has had a negative impact on the proper functioning of the national electricity system and sellers in the economy, with even an indirect impact on customers. In determining the amount of the penalties were assessed positively, the payment by Terna to approximately 13 million euro to the Equalization Fund of the electricity sector and the activities undertaken by Enel Distribuzione to improve the treatment of measurement data, control of biographical and the formation of energy balance. were closed instead of proceedings in respect of AEM Torino and ASM Terni because, during the investigation, the company showed the absence of similar alleged violations.
