Four distribution companies and the network manager, alleged breaches of obligations to measure and dispatching - Two companies fined for selling on the transparency of bills.

The Energy Authority, at the conclusion of proceedings including hearings, imposed penalties totaling more than 2.3 million € to Acea Distribuzione, A2A Electrical Networks, Enel Distribuzione and Terna Networks Gelsi for violation of laws protecting the proper management and remuneration of transmission services, measurement, and dispatching two other companies, market and Flyenergia Iren, have been penalized in terms of lack of transparency of bills.

The penalties amounted to 571 thousand euro for Acea Distribuzione, 302 000 € for A2A Electrical Networks, 92 0 thousand euro for Enel Distribuzione, 75 000 to € 420 000 € Gelsi Networks and the operator of the national transmission grid Terna, were imposed at the end of formal proceedings relating to offenses committed in the period 2005-2007. Failure to comply with the regulation of the companies involved has had a negative impact on the proper functioning of the national electricity system and sellers in the economy, with even an indirect impact on customers.

In determining the amount of the penalties were assessed positively, the payment by Terna to approximately 13 million euro to the Equalization Fund of the electricity sector and the activities undertaken by Enel Distribuzione to improve the treatment of measurement data, control of biographical and the formation of energy balance.

The Authority has also sanctioned two sales companies, and market Flyenergia Iren, respectively, for an amount of 84 000 € 19 000 € and for offenses relating to the transparency of bills for customers domestic and non domestic. The Authority also ordered termination of the two companies conduct prejudicial to the interests of consumers. With these two measures is completed the 'trend' of the seven proceedings concerning the infringement of rules on transparency and comprehensibility of bills.
